How this tool works
- 1The page is rendered underneath a transparent surface, so a mark lands where you put it.
- 2Everything you draw stays on that surface; the page itself is never altered while you work.
- 3On save the surface is composited over the original page as a transparent image, which is why the text underneath survives.
What it will not do
- Marks are drawn, not typed into the document. Text you add is a picture of text, so it will not be found by a search.
- This annotates a page; it does not let you edit the words already on it. PDFs store text as positioned glyphs, not editable paragraphs.
- There is no undo beyond the eraser and clearing a page.
Where this runs
PDF Editor runs entirely inside this page. Your file is read by the browser, processed in memory and handed back to your downloads folder. It is never sent to a server, because there is no server involved in this tool.

No, and be wary of anything claiming it can do that cleanly. A PDF stores where each glyph sits, not sentences, so editing a word means reflowing everything around it. This tool marks the page instead. To change the words, convert to Word, edit there, and convert back.
