How this tool works

  1. 1Each page is rendered small and in greyscale, which is ample for deciding whether anything is on it.
  2. 2The proportion of pixels darker than near-white is measured.
  3. 3Pages below the sensitivity you set are dropped, and the ones removed are listed.

What it will not do

  • A page carrying only a faint scanner artefact may read as blank; a page with a speck of dirt may not. The sensitivity is adjustable for exactly this reason, and the result names which pages went so you can check.
  • Pages holding only a very light watermark may be treated as blank.

Where this runs

Remove Blank Pages runs entirely inside this page. Your file is read by the browser, processed in memory and handed back to your downloads folder. It is never sent to a server, because there is no server involved in this tool.
